Solving the Puzzle

Number selection

Numbers may be selected by pressing a number key, turning the mouse wheel, clicking on a given (black) number in the puzzle, clicking on the toolbar keypad, or using the <TAB> key.

The selected number is displayed next to the pencil.

Placing numbers

A selected number may be placed in any empty square in the puzzle by clicking the mouse in the desired square. Clicking the mouse when pointing at a small highlighted area within a square will place the selected number as a pencilmark.

A faster way to place numbers (or pencilmarks) is to point the mouse on a square (or on a small highlighted area) and press the desired number key in the keyboard. This action will select and enter the number in one move.

Placing a number in a square (or in a small highlighted area) which already contains a number will replace it.

Deleting numbers

Placing a number in a square (or in a small highlighted area) which already contains the same number will delete it. Numbers may also be deleted by pressing "0" on the keyboard when the mouse is over the desired square, or by selecting the eraser from the toolbar and clicking on the desired square.

Setting Preferences

Show conflicts

Shows/hides conflicting number instances with a red circle. A conflicting number means that it already exists in the same row, column or box.

Show pencilmarks

Shows/hides pencilmarks which have been placed in the puzzle.

Highlight selected number

Highlights all the squares in the puzzle which contain the selected number.

Highlight excluded squares

Highlights all the squares into which the selected number cannot be placed.

Checking the Puzzle

Checks and shows errors in the current status of the puzzle.

Viewing the Solution

Shows the solution of the puzzle. Using this feature will end the game.

Undo / Redo

Allows unlimited undoing and redoing solving steps.

Zoom in / Zoom out

Enlarges or reduces the puzzle size on the screen.

Printing the Puzzle

Sends the puzzle in its current solution status to the printer.
