Our 8th Kappa Puzzles Online Contest closed on January 31, 2007. Winners have been chosen, and a new contest will appear soon. Here was the challenge:

“Each word below is missing two pairs of letters, represented by blanks. The second pair of letters in each word is the same as the first pair, but their order is reversed. For example, given _ _VOLV_ _, you could fill in the blanks with RE and ER to get REVOLVER. No letters are repeated among the eight sets of inserts.”
